I’m an award-winning creative director and copywriter based in Minneapolis, currently with Carmichael Lynch. Before that I helped build Öpinionated from an independent offshoot of Wieden + Kennedy to AdAge Small Agency of the Year. I’ve been solving business problems with creativity for over a decade, and have been messing with my hair color for a lot longer than that.
When I’m not working (and also when I am) I’m a proud FAFO parent to Sunny, Otto, Mary Kate, and Ashley — 2 of whom are Scottish Folds. As for which 2, I’ll let you be the judge.
here are some things that i’ve made
A brand re-launch for Treasure Cave Blue Cheese that’s as polarizing as blue cheese itself.
You either love blue cheese or you don’t. There’s not a whole lot of in-between. To re-launch Treasure Cave we imagined it as an actual place that’s just as polarizing as you’d expect.
Welcome to Treasure Cave. You might love it here.

A creative platform and brand campaign for Seventh Generation that trolled the President and brought hope to a bummer year.
As we were developing the first campaign for our pitch-winning “Believe in a Seventh Generation” platform, the global youth climate strikes were in full swing. It got us thinking about moments in history when a collective sense of duty actually changed the world. I wrote a single question on a slide: “What if we were meant to be the next ‘greatest generation?’ referring to the generation that survived both the Great Depression and World War II. I printed it out to show the team, which ironically turned out to be a pretty good us of paper.
We used the all-channel roadblock of Trump’s first State of the Union address as a launch pad, and made a film that drew parallel between the "greatest generation" and today’s young climate activists. Featuring images and audio of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1943 State of the Union address juxtaposed with modern day activists, the campaign poses the idea that climate change is this generation’s problem to solve, and the solution will be our legacy.

A campaign for Olly Vitamins with some very Big Vagina Energy.
Ahh, the female experience. Some days you’re up. Some days you’re down. Some days there’s a human being coming out of your vagina. Needless to say, there’s a lot to talk about, and a lot to take care of.
But up until pretty recently, all society wanted us to discuss was clothes, hair, and weddings, for some reason. As for the day-to-day maintenance of our hoo-has? Please, ladies! Someone, somewhere is eating lunch!
So we made a campaign for Olly that inspired women to do more than just shamefully deal with them, but take care of them with confidence and pride — even if they don’t fully feel it yet.
And that, lady friends, is some very big vagina energy.

A partnership that turned one of advertising’s most iconic duos into an iconic trio.
When me and Amanda Clark inherited the Bush’s Baked Beans account at Carmichael Lynch, we also inherited their 2-year contract with Peyton Manning. So we turned “Jay and Duke” into “Jay and Duke and Peyton,” and we had a very good and interesting time doing it.

A can opener with Peyton Manning’s voice inside.
An out of home campaign that put Bush’s Baked Beans (literally) on the side of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Championship.
Bush’s wanted help communicating that summertime meals aren’t complete without Bush’s Baked Beans. But with a a short timeline and with no official partnerships, we had to get scrappy. So we crashed some of the summer’s biggest food events with out of home media that reminded people that beans complete the meal.
A social campaign for H&R Block that helped put female collegiate athletes in the center of the zeitgeist.
In 2022, the new NCAA name, image, likeness (NIL) rule suddenly turned college athletes into small-business owners. But right out the gate, male athletes were receiving a whopping 67 percent of the total compensation in collegiate sports.
We saw an opportunity to give women athletes a huge platform in an effort to help them get every dollar they deserve.
We moved fast and became the first big brand to partner with star hoopers like Caitlin Clarke, Zia Cooke, and Paige Bueckers.
And it worked. The campaign helped launch the windfall of commercial success for these women athletes, and put a tax company at the center of a huge cultural moment.
A real perfume that helped save the world’s largest independent bookstore.
When Powell’s Books was forced to close its stores due to Covid, we were called in to help the Portland icon survive its temporary virtual-only existence.
It sold out twice, got a ton of press, and is still available for sale today.
A brand launch for the world’s first AI-powered wheelchair.
LUCI was founded by a Barry Dean, a dad who wanted the best for his daughter Katherine, who has Cerebral Palsy. We introduced LUCI to the world with a film about the father-daughter relationship that inspired it.
It launched on Father’s Day 2020 with zero dollars in media but a lot of help on social from Barry’s friends Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Lady A, Martina McBride, and other boot-scootin’ legends. Did I mention Barry is a multi Grammy Award-winning songwriter? That helped.
The launch got people talking about LUCI. But we needed a piece that showed it’s potential to change lives. So we made a second film, narrated by a woman with Cerebral Palsy, about the power LUCI gives users over everyday threats to their safety.
A full-length holiday album to help people convince their weird family that climate change is real.
